Every Cat Welcome

The cats other places struggle with

All cats are welcome at the Belvedere. But we have a special touch with the ones who find boarding hardest: nervous cats, cats who hide, seniors, cats on medication, and cats who simply don't do roommates.

Our very first guest was a shy tuxedo cat who spent her first night hiding in her carrier. By day two she was sitting beside us while we worked. By day three she was following us from room to room and eating breakfast in her own chair by the window. That's what patience and a quiet house can do.

Shy & anxious cats

  • Never coaxed out before they're ready. Quiet company counts as a good day
  • The Study, our quietest suite, is set aside for cats who need calm
  • Calming pheromone diffusers in every room
  • A slow, predictable routine with no dogs and no chaos

Senior cats

  • Soft bedding and easy access to food, water and litter
  • Close watch on appetite, hydration, litter habits and mobility
  • Someone home all day, so changes are noticed quickly

Medication & special needs

  • Pills, liquids and prescription or special diets, on your schedule
  • Pet CPR and first-aid certified care
  • A 24-hour emergency vet just minutes away, plus your own vet's details on file

Cats who don't do roommates

Every guest has their own suite, and cats who prefer their own company take turns enjoying the rest of the house. No cat has to share space they don't want, and no cat is shut in a room all day.

Good to Know

Questions from cat parents

My cat hides for days in new places. Is that okay?

Absolutely. Shy cats are never pulled out of hiding. We give them quiet company, a calm room and time, and most start coming out on their own within a day or two.

My cat doesn't get along with other cats.

That's fine. Every guest has a private suite, and cats who prefer their own company take turns enjoying the house, so they never have to share space with a cat they don't like.

Can you give medication?

Yes. Pills, liquids and special diets, given on your cat's schedule. Tell us about any medical needs during your consultation.

Do you take senior cats?

Gladly. Senior cats get a calm routine, soft bedding, easy access to food, water and litter, and close attention to appetite, litter habits and mobility.
